Great Friends

Me, Jamie, Mikaela and Katie on our way to Urgent Care

Yesterday, I sliced my ankle open and didn't even notice it until my friend Beautiful pointed it out to me. I tried to figure out where I had gotten the scratch from but I couldn't think of anything that would have scratched me without my realizing it. Then, when I was at the YASE talent show that night, I noticed another scrape on my ankle and then FINALLY realized it was from a piece of rusty metal protruding from my flip flop.

And then the eventful night began...

I yanked the metal out of my shoe and showed it to my friend Katie, who then pointed out to me that being scraped with rusty metal is very dangerous and can result in tetanus. We called her sister, who is a nurse, and she advised that if I didn't have an up to date tetanus shot, we go to an urgent care immediately.

Unfortunately... the one in walking distance was closed. My new friend Whitney was kind enough to drive Mikaela, Jamie, Katie and I to another urgent care that, unfortunately closed literally one minute before we arrived.

To ensure that I was okay, Katie checked on me at 2 and 4 in the morning. I feel so blessed to have friends that first of all put up with me and my ridiculous shenanigans, but are also so kind and sweet hearted that they are willing to sacrifice their sleep to make sure that I am doing alright.

I am very blessed indeed :)

Our First Week at the Y

So here we are. At BYU. After many years of hard work... we have made it. And it's super great! Julia and I came here in the Summer and already we have had many amazing adventures ( and a plethora of super awk situations) which is why we decided to blog about them... so here it goes.

Our first week at the Y.
Day 1: First day of classes. No meals. and A LOT of hw basically sums it up.
Day 2: The LONGEST day of the year. yes... so in order to celebrate this momentous occasion Julia and I decided to go to the store and buy some pop tarts. We walk outside and immediately we are hit on by a huge group of Sports camp kids... LAME. how it went down...
Weird boys: hey how you doin?
Us: uhhhh ( Julia looks away... Mikalea awkwardly puts her hand up and doesnt make eye contact) awk. situation # 1.
Day 3: We go to another building to use their piano, as we are walking a young girl is walking around us al funny like until suddenly she starts screaming at the top of her lungs and running around us in circles like a crazy person. Julia in response screams at the top of her lungs and juumps about 5 feet in the air. I laugh. soo funny.

I'm getting bored with blogging so ill finish this whole week one thing later :) bahah

您好 (Nee How!)

Today Mikaela and I were talking to a Counselor of a Chinese Camp. Or rather... he was talking to us. After a few introductions ("where are you from? what year in school are you?") He proceeded to ask...

"So... How would you feel about marrying someone 5 years older than you?"

WHAT DO YOU EVEN SAY TO THAT?!
Here's how Mikaela and I responded.

*Awkward Silence*

Then he proceeded to tell us how he always takes girls hiking on dates to see if their relationship would work.

*Awkward Silence Numero Dos*

Mikaela: Julia, what are you looking at?
Julia: Oh, I was just imagining myself falling off of that mountain.

SHUTTT DOWNNN. And that, my friends. Is how it's done.
